Description
This luxurious scarf brings you romance and enchantment with its exclusive design based on the secret meanings of flowers.
In medieval times, aristocratic homes contained indulgent walled gardens, called "Gardens of Love" since they were specifically designed to aid courtly love. It was believed that certain flowers and colors were so pleasing to the senses that they could stimulate lively conversation between noble men and women, helping them to fall and stay in love.
Water streams and red roses had a special place in these gardens, in fact rose gardens were considered akin to Eden. This is why the Virgin Mary was often represented surrounded by a rose garden. The rose was an emblem of pure, unwavering love, and Mary herself was referred to as a ‘rose without thorns.’
During the Middle Ages, the rose became synonym of both courtly and holy love, to the point that famous Queen Elizabeth the 1st of England adopted the flower as a symbol of a royal identity that linked state and heaven.
This scarf is a homage to romance and courtship, but also to the powerful idea that love exists in many forms, not only in romantic form. The rose is an expression of the universal love we should embrace every day in our lives, in order to become agents of positive change in the world. Because it's never too late to transform our lives into a true Garden of Love!
