Made-to-order is a revolution that makes fashion production sustainable and responsible. When choosing made-to-order, products are produced only at the moment a customer orders them: the textile is printed, cut to the size the customer chose, then sewn with the selected finish.

On the contrary, traditional retail relies on huge inventories produced in advance.

In traditional made-to-sell retail stores, products are made in advance in huge quantities and often exceed market demand. The "fast fashion" business model is cheaper, but around 85% of all its textiles end up in landfills, making traditional fashion a major contributor to environmental damage.

At MedievalMade every order is specifically produced at the moment the customer orders it, according to the customer's specifications.

Digital-Printing Technology

MedievalMade adopts Digital Textile printing, a new technology in fashion production that saves each year billions of liters of water when compared to traditional rotary screen printing.
Digital Textile Printing also uses smaller quantities of ink, typically only 10% of the color used in traditional screen printing.

Did you know that the amount of water used in conventional textile printing could fill the Mediterranean Sea every two years? It may look like an impressionist painting, but this river dyed with inks is not a work of art.

Digital Printing is the sustainable solution to water conservation.

Responsible shipping

Closer Fulfillment Centers: In the effort to reduce our carbon footprint and use fair labor, our first choice whenever possible is to use manufacturers in North America. Our manufacturers have fulfillment centers on both US coasts and Canada, so every time the option exists, your product will be made in the closest location in the effort to reduce the CO2 used for transportation.

Responsible Packaging: For non-breakable items, like apparel and bags, we use poly-bags. Our packaging might not be fancy, but it reduces packaging to the minimum necessary, while still providing a waterproof and protective barrier.

Poly bags protect the product from water and tears, while preventing unnecessary nested packages, cardboard boxes, or Styrofoam.

They also save considerable energy during transportation because they occupy less volume.
