"Legend of the Tree" Weekender Tote

During a storm, it is said that the queen, accompanied by an army of 100 knights on their horses, sought refuge under a huge tree. The chestnut tree was so old that its roots formed a cave, still visible today in the village of Sant'Alfio, Italy. That very night the queen fell in love with one of her bravest knights, but their love was forbidden and always kept a secret. The so called "Hundred-Horse Chestnut" is the largest and oldest known chestnut tree in the world, believed to be 2,000 to 4,000 years old.

The vines on this design mimic the leaves of the tree under which the secret love blossomed. The deep red pops against the turquoise jewels and strings, reminiscent of the embellishments on the queen's hair.
