Description
Combine elegance and functionality with this generously sized tote bag, featuring antique jewels from original medieval illuminations. With its soft rope handles, a wrinkle-free finish, and a very resistant fabric, this bag is perfect for shopping, travel, beach... laptops and books! Plus, the different design placement on each face of the bag allows you to choose with side to display every day!
We created this design starting from an authentic medieval manuscript, from which we digitally restored and rearranged each jewel to create an exclusive pattern. During the Middle Ages, it was customary for the richest noble women (a Queen or a Duchess) to commission paintings of their jewelry, since they were considered true art pieces. The splendid illustrations of real jewels inspired "whimsical" creations like this one, where floral motifs were reinterpreted as jewels. Petals became pearls, and the pistils were replaced by gems, while the vines mimicked precious jewelry chains.
