Description
Brighten up your bed or couch with these eye-catching gargoyles, while donating an authentic historical touch to your home! Gargoyles were a typical decoration of churches during the Middle Ages, and for a good reason: their main purpose was to scare off evil.
The name comes from the French legend of "La Gargouille," a dragon that for centuries terrorized the village of Rouen. Finally, a priest was able to tame the beast and lead it into town, where it was burned at the stake. Its head, however, wouldn’t burn, so the townspeople cut it off and affixed it to their church. This is how the gargouille’s head became a ward against evil, and this is why many monstrous statues cover the façade of old Gothic churches.
In this design, gargoyles intertwine with pearl strings and floral elements, creating a complex and refined pattern. The cobalt blue elements sit on a golden background, making this blanket well adaptable to any color scheme you already have in your home.
